Olivia Preston

Leicester-born news reporter working in Bedfordshire

Currently working for Luton Today as a full-time news reporter.

Writing about current affairs, people and politics during my undergraduate degree at City University was something I always loved to do.

Naturally, I turned that passion into a career and now work as a news reporter covering all those topics and more.

I am one of only two people (Beth Rigby from Sky is the other) to have interviewed Shaun Pinner – a British prisoner of war imprisoned by Russian forces in Ukraine in 2022.

I was also part of the first members of the press to ride on the Luton Airport DART.

In 2022, I spent a day with Hertfordshire Police, experiencing a day in the life of an officer in Hemel Hempstead – it included several high-speed chases.

In March 2022, I began working as trainee news reporter on the Hemel Hempstead Gazette as the sole reporter on the paper. A year later, I moved onto the Luton Post and Herald.
